Have you ever wanted to see what your download speed or network connection speed is?

Well if you are running a gnome desktop you can. Simply install netmon_applet.

It is available from the main site or a rpm I made — download

This has been submitted to Fedora Core — here, where you can get the src rpm etc.

rpm -ivh netmon_applet-0.4-0.fdr.1.i386.rpm
to install and then right click your gnome panel > "Add to Panel" > "Internet" > "Netmon". You might need to log out and in again for the option to show up.

Customise it's look by right clicking the icon, once it is loaded.
