Some of the users encounter this problem. Sometimes you have dual boot and when you reinstall the windows operating system it overwrites the MBR. So when users boot, they don't get GRUB or Lilo. To get GRUB or Lilo back, login as root after booting from a floppy and give the following command

#grub-install /dev/hda

or

#lilo -v

depending on whether you want GRUB or Lilo. - submitted by Krishnan Subramanian
