Fedora Core 6 release date slip

We regret to announce a slip of the Fedora Core 6 release schedule. A few issues are still present that we would like to see fixed before we release...To give enough time to fix these issues, we've extended the release date 6 days to Tuesday, Oct 17th.
FC6 Pre-release (Test4)

I know many of you have had problems installing FC6t3. Let me offer my apologies, and my sincere thanks to you for *trying* to help us test Fedora Core. We still want your help! In order to make that happen, we've decided to do an early release of pre-FC6 disk images. They will only be available by bittorrent, in order to save us time waiting for the mirrors to sync.
Ohio Linux Fest 2006 Summary

The Ohio Linux Fest held this past Saturday, September 30th was a great success! The booth came together very nicely - we had Fedora T-Shirts, Stickers, Core 5 DVDs and informational handouts available at the booth...All in all it was a great show. Lots of fun for everyone involved I think. I was very happy with how the booth turned out and I think Fedora was very well represented there.
One Laptop Update

I wrote up a long update on where we are in the software and hardware for the One Laptop per Child project. We’ve gotten a lot done, but I don’t think that’s been communicated to the outside world very well. So, for the first time, here’s an update of where we are. Hopefully I’ll be able to do this on a regular basis.
Red Hat KDE conference talk
John (J5) Palmieri (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/JohnPalmieri) points out in his blog (http://www.j5live.com/?p=260):
I even managed to finish my talk on the plane ride over and even more remarkable, deliver it to a packed room of KDE developers and enthusiasts. There have been a number of positive blogs over at planetkde.org so I think it went well. Money well spent if you ask me. Being able to connect and build bridges with the KDE community is priceless.
High-tech social enterprise reaps free software's benefits
According to recent aricle published in NewsForge (http://business.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=06/09/29/1827208&tid=39&tid=150&tid=132):
Our servers are based on Fedora Core. It moves fast enough that we could get the application stacks that we wanted. It supports SE [Security-Enhanced] Linux, which makes a lot of sense to us. For years we've done work on setting up secure spaces on servers to avoid cracks" -- with reporting on human rights abuses, security is a major issue -- "and SE Linux makes that a lot easier."
Fedora Weekly Reports 2006-10-02
We have a new effort in place to report The Board news as well as Meeting Minutes from each sub-project for Fedora community to gather information on the happenings in the Fedora universe in a easily digestible and referenceable format.

During the week of October 02 - October 08, Fedora Project released 9 Fedora Core 5 Updates (http://fedoranews.org/cms/FC5) including 2 Security Advisories.
