Thomas Guide is a step-by-step screenshot based User Guide for a Linux Newbie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newbie).
This week, NASA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA) made a breakthough announcement (http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.cfm?release=2005-126) that a planet larger than Pluto (http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/profile.cfm?Object=Pluto&Display=Overview) has been discovered in the outlying regions of the Solar System (http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/index.cfm).
What A Discovery! That makes 10th planet in our solar system. Do you wonder what's it look like? Wouldn't you want it as a Wallpaper on our Desktop?
Step 1
Here is the Default Wallpaper on our Desktop for Fedora Core 4.
Step 2
Open your Firefox browser and go to http://www.jpl.nasa.gov
Step 3
Click on More Images to get to following URL:
http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/solarsystem/newplanet-072905-images.html
The New Planet (big ojbect on your left) is catalogued as 2003UB313 for now until it's given a new name. Our Sun (small object on your right) can be seen in the distance.
Step 4
Click on Larger Image to see a high resolution image perfect for Wallpaper.
Right click on the image and choose Set As Wallpaper.
Step 5
Choose Strech for Position and leave White for Color.
Click on Set Wallpaper button. It will take a few seconds since it's a very large image (3000x2250 pixels).
Step 6
VoilĂ , our new family member of solar system on our Desktop!
Step 7
If you ever change your mind, you can always remove it.
Right click on Desktop and choose Change Desktop Background
Step 8
Select Firefox_wallpaper.png and click on Remove button.
Select Default and click on Close button to go back to the original Wallpaper for Fedora Core 4.
By the way, you didn't actually delete the image. It was simply removed from Wallpaper list.
To add it back, click on Add Wallpaper button then go to your Home directory and you will find Firefox_wallpaper.png still exist.
