A very exciting event (http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/deepimpact/main/index.html) is happening at NASA and I wanted to check out NASA's Home Page (http://www.nasa.gov).
Soon I realized my Fedora Core 4 system was missing Flash Player (http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#fp) and I could not see the cool flash animation.
I know I've covered Flash Player on Fedora Core in the past but I never tested on FC4. Also I know there is a RPM package available from http://macromedia.mplug.org/ but the site was down at the time of this writing when I needed the most. To find out how to install RPM version, see Fedora Core 4 Linux Installation Notes#Flash: by Stanton Finley.
Here is an alternative way of installing Flash Player using Plugin Finder Service for your firefox on FC4.
1. Click on "Launch Flash Feature (http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/deepimpact_flash/index.html)" on the NASA's Home Page (http://www.nasa.gov).
2. Click on "Installing Missing Plugins"
3. Click on "Next" to continue
4. Click on "I agree" and "Next" to continue
5. Click on "Finish"
Now, you should be able to enjoy the cool flash animation (http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/deepimpact_flash/index.html). Happy Fourth of July!
