Auditd Initscript Reports Errors

Are you getting "There was an error in line 5 of /etc/audit.rules" during the boot or during auditd starts? You're not alone. It's been reported mailing list (http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2005-August/msg00145.html) as well as bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=163223).

Christopher Blizzard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Blizzard) who is a member of the Mozilla Corporation Board of Directors as well as a Red Hat/Fedora Developer explains (http://www.0xdeadbeef.com/html/2005/08/#200508032005) what this means in his blog.

Test de Fedora Core 4

We found another Fedora Core 4 Review (http://www.quebecos.com/modules/sections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=26) in French. Here is Google English Translation (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.quebecos.com%2Fmodules%2Fsections%2Findex.php%3Fop%3Dviewarticle%26artid%3D26&langpair=fr%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools). In the conclusion, assuming Google Translation is correct, it says "All things considered, it is the hobbyist and the companies which will use this distribution suitably. For the use of the newcomers on Linux, it proves to be a cauchemard." Cauchemard? Nightmaire?

Cooperative Bug Isolation Project

Ben Liblit who is an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison wanted to announce his project called The Cooperative Bug Isolation Project (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/cbi/). He also mentioned that they recently added prebuilt bug-hunting RPMs (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/cbi/downloads/) for Fedora Core 4, and the more users know about it, the more bugs they can find. To learn more about his project, please visit the web site (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/cbi/learn-more/).
